Applying for East Ventures Alpha

September 1st, 2011

With more than 200 millions people, Indonesia is very interesting place for doing business. More and more people here are connected by mobile phones, which mean huge market for developing mobile application. While internet penetration is still very low in Indonesia, but mobile phone help to close the gap.

I think no wonder investors starting to lookup Indonesia for its startups. Koprol was acquired by Yahoo, Disdus acquired by Groupon. Startup incubation program start to grow and show support for Indonesia Startup.

I have learnt so much from my pet projects and my experience in creating websites/applications for other startups. With that in mind I decide to join the startup world and while my programming skill will be enough for starting a startup, I do understand it’s only small part of being startup.

So here I am, applying for East Ventures Alpha, a 100 days startup incubation program focuses heavily on mentorship. I do believe with such program will improve the success rate of my startup.

Thanks for listening. I’ll blog my experience joining this program (assuming I’m accepted in this program).
